PORTRAIT SESSION GUIDE FOR

THE NEW GSUMC DIRECTORY

We’re looking forward to your portrait session!  We have put together some tips from our experience to help ensure you have fun and create great memories with your family.

TIPS: PREPARING FOR YOUR PHOTO SESSION

Most importantly… HAVE FUN!!!   Relax and enjoy your time together!

Family fun! Bring Every one!

Please bring any family members that you’d like to be photographed. Grandparents, siblings and friends should be in your photos, too!

Heirlooms

Bring heirlooms that are important or symbolic to you for your photo session. Some keepsakes include old family portraits, war medals, Bibles, instruments, sports items, blankets or quilts, flowers and jewelry.

VIEW/SELECT AT SESSION

You’ll be making your portrait selection decisions right after taking your portrait, so please arrive with a list of friends and family with whom you may wish to share your images.

DISPLAYING YOUR PHOTOS

Be sure to measure a few different wall spaces that might be a good fit for your wall portrait.

ALLOW ENOUGH TIME

Because your portrait session includes the sitting and review of images and products, please allow—depending upon the number in your party— up to an hour for a full session. It’s best to try to keep your schedule clear so you don’t feel or look rushed .

GET RESTED

Make sure you get a good night’s rest.  Your portraits will look best when you are well rested and relaxed.  Consider your child’s nap time, as well.  If at all possible, schedule your photo session after your child’s nap.  It will definitely make the photo session run more smoothly, and your child (and you) will be much happier.
