PORTRAIT SESSION GUIDE FOR

THE NEW GSUMC DIRECTORY

We’re looking forward to your portrait session!  We have put together some tips from our experience to help ensure you have fun and create great memories with your family.

CLOTHING TIPS

COORDINATE CLOTHING

Choose outfits that complement one another, with similar fabric and style.

CONSIDER YOUR SHOES

Poses may include full-length images, so be sure to wear shoes that match your outfit.

WATCH COLORS AND PRINTS

Solid colors and small prints are best, with 3-4 colors maximum.  Dark colors are classic and slimming.

SLEEVES ARE IMPORTANT

Long sleeves or ¾ length sleeves are more flattering than short or sleeveless shirts.

CONSIDER YOUR DECOR

Coordinating clothing and colors with your home décor will help give your wall portrait a customized look and make it the center of attention in your home.

WHAT NOT TO WEAR

Busy patterns and designs. These can be distracting. Avoid logos, text and cartoon characters on t-shirts—unless they are part of the theme for your family photo.
